No matter how clean you think your mom is, mental health influencer @zavhbruh’s mom is cleaner … and that’s probably not a good thing.  

Earlier this week, the creator took to TikTok with a candid look at his experience living with his mother who he said suffers from “OCD, germaphobia, BPD, narcissism, schizophrenia, depression, ADHD” and more, conditions that seemingly prompted her to adopt elaborate rules surrounding his family’s hygiene practices – ones that start long before stepping foot through their door.

Though his family home may have a stunning front entrance, using said door is evidently off the table for @zavhbruh and his family.  “I’m usually not allowed to enter in through the front door,” he explained in his now-viral clip, which has since made the rounds on Twitter. With the foyer out of the question, the TikToker and his family are required to enter through the garage.

After slipping off their outdoor shoes, placing their dirty socks into a bin and donning their indoor footwear — @zavhbruh’s mom, he said, “believes the inside of my shoes are dirty” — the influencer and his family members are then required to close the garage door, waiting for it to shut before entering in through their kitchen.

“She believes that light attracts flies,” he explained.

Yet the rules of his mother’s home don’t stop with the garage. Despite living in a two-story house, @zavhbruh said he isn’t allowed to even step foot on the second floor, a space reserved for his mother and father.

“I’m only restricted to the first floor,” he continued, noting that his mother “doesn’t touch or sit on anything in the first floor,” rules that also apply to his father. “I apparently made everything dirty.”

While @zavhbruh may boast his own chair at the family dining table, his mother sequestered in her own seat across the kitchen, he’s also forced to abide by several other restrictions, including not using the second bathroom in their home or sitting on any seats other than his pre-specified chair.

“Here’s the weird part,” he said after explaining his ban from the downstairs sofas. “She doesn’t sit on them either because she thinks it’s too dirty for her, but it’s cleaner than me. So therefore, I am the dirtiest, I cannot sit on these ‘kind of’ clean sofas, but then she’s way cleaner and she cannot sit on these either.”

While @zavhbruh noted that he is allowed to enter his sister’s old bedroom — “my sister’s gone for college,” he added  — the second story is, again, very much a no-go.

“I don’t know if you guys are following because it’s f—king complicated,” he continued, noting that he hadn’t visited the second story of his mother’s house since moving back. “I have restrictions.”

As the video began gaining viral traction, @zavhbruh’s story resonated with one very specific audience — those with contamination OCD.

“As someone with contamination OCD, this is an eye opener,” wrote one commenter.

“I have contamination OCD. I needed to see this.” added a second, noting that they get “half” of his mother’s practices. “The other half was probably where I was heading.”

We can only hope that @zavhbruh will someday get to move into a place of his own … though he can most definitely keep his shoes on the welcome mat.
